God

Who is God you ask? God is spirit and truth. God is Love. God is who most people know to be the one that controls the universe. God perfects love in us through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ who died for us and became perfect love for us so that we could be called children of God. God's Children know their Father and they here His voice.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. (1 John Ch 4:7-11)

God is the One that has created heaven and earth. God is the one that will be the righteous judge for all our disobedience and our obedience to him. Sin is our disobedience to God. God has given us instruction on the way we are to live our lives. We are to live our lives in love toward Him and toward one another. God said to Moses to tell Pharaoh of Egypt that his God's name is I am that I am. Meaning God is the Sole Existent One. God does not depend or rely on any other to exist. He is God of all creation, Heaven and Earth all that is seen and unseen.

God desires to be in a personal relationship with us. He wants our soul ( our inner most desires of the heart). He wants to be at the top. Nothing should ever take his place in our desires. God tells us this in The first Commandment.Our relationship with God is the most precious thing you can ever seek in this life. God loves you but despises the sin we all commit. God is Love, Merciful, Gracious, and gave us a way out of sin (which is death) and into His love (which gives us life eternal) through his Son Jesus Christ. God is the righteous judge and He knows that the day is coming when he will have to judge all righteousness and unrighteousness. The thing about God is He sees the true intentions of your heart. Every act you make of kindness or selfishness. He sees weather or not the heart is in the right place. Weather you are doing something for selfish gain or are just doing it because you love God and choose to be obedient to Him in all things.

How God Speaks to us

There are four things we must do If we want to hear God's voice.

First, be open to the possibility that God wants to speak to us.
Next, set some time aside to hear God speak.
Third, cut out some of the distractions in our lives.
Fourth, say yes to God's voice before we hear it.

God speaks to us in a number of ways

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV)

This is Gods primary way of speaking to us. It is important to have a daily quiet time with God. It is also important to have a translation of the Bible you can understand well. Study Bibles are great for learning more of God's character. It is also good to be involved in a group Bible study. Hearing from God can intensify through confirmation of what He is speaking to others will agree at times with what he is speaking to you. In fact this is the second way God speaks to us is through other people, like teachers and preachers. Third, God speaks through impressions. This means He speaks to our minds.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John Ch 14:26 KJV)

Forth, God speaks to us through our pain because we don't change when we see the light. We only change when we feel the heat.

The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly. (Proverbs 20:30 KJV)

Why is it so important to hear God Speaking to us?

Hearing from God demonstrates that we are in His family.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. (John 10:14&16 KJV)

2. Hearing from God protects us from making serious mistakes.

For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,s17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.s18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.(Job 33:14-18 KJV)

3. Hearing from God helps lead a productive life.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (John 15:5 KJV)

God is not Dead, He is Alive and continues to speak to us through the Bible, other people, our minds and through pain.
